Ezera is a passionate social worker and conservationist with over 15 years of experience in community development and environmental restoration around the Bwindi region. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Community-Based Rehabilitation and Special Needs Education from Kyambogo University – Kampala and has worked extensively with indigenous Batwa communities to promote education, inclusion, and sustainable livelihoods.
For the past decade, Ezera has also served as a consultant to the Uganda Wildlife Authority during World Gorilla Day events, advancing conservation awareness and fostering stronger community engagement in gorilla protection.
In addition to his professional work, Ezera serves as a mentor for STEAM projects under Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH), inspiring youth to explore innovation in conservation and public health using one health approach. As a proud founding member and first Secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Bwindi Forest—chartered on October 1, 2025—he continues to champion service and community empowerment.
Ezera’s dedication to conservation is also deeply personal. He has independently planted over 5,000 trees around the Bwindi-Mgahinga Conservation Area, strengthening local ecosystems and demonstrating his unwavering commitment to restoring and protecting nature.
His impactful work and community leadership have been recognized in several publications, including “Walking with Gorillas” by Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, “We Are Inseparable” by Dr. Laura Arndt Sanders, and “The Batwa Exiles of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest” by Thom Henry and Tomas.
