A Pan-African, Community-Based Conservation Initiative
We bring together conservationists, artists, cultural leaders, and youth under one shared vision: to restore harmony between people, nature, and heritage.
Conservation-Themed Events Hosted
Inspired by the legacy of ACP’s founder’s father—a conservation pioneer involved in gorilla habituation and forest protection in Bwindi, ACP operates with the belief that real, lasting conservation must come from within the communities closest to the land.
Our Vision
A continent where African communities are the stewards of nature, the protectors of their cultures, and the leaders of sustainable development.
Our Mission
We unite and amplify grassroots efforts in conservation, education, cultural heritage, and youth empowerment — supporting and collaborating with locally rooted initiatives like: BBCRCA – Bwindi Batwa Culture Rock and Cave Association, BTAG – Bwindi Talents Art Gallery and BYTV – Bwindi Youth TV. ACP serves as the umbrella body, providing coordination, support, advocacy, and structure to these dynamic partners.

ACP acts as a unifying platform, strengthening, coordinating, and promoting the work of its partners:

Safeguarding Batwa heritage, sacred sites, songs, oral traditions, and ancestral caves through education, guided tours, documentation, and cultural empowerment.
Bwindi Talents Art Gallery
Promoting conservation through creative expression—murals, painting, performance, music, and dance that speak to the soul of the forest and the community.
A youth-driven media platform that trains young people in film, photography, and environmental storytelling—giving them tools to advocate for nature and culture through powerful visuals.
Establishes and manages eco-gardens, vegetable nurseries, etc., ensuring the responsible use of land and natural resources. Bakiga Homestead also promotes organic farming practices, recycling, composting, and proper garbage disposal.
ACP is honored to partner with Mzee Medard Tumugabirwe (founder of Talk About the Gorillas), a retired ranger-guide and one of the pioneers who helped habituate the very first gorilla families in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
