Founder & CEO

I was born and raised in Buhoma village, on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park — home to the endangered mountain gorilla. My roots here run deep. My father, a retired ranger-guide, devoted over 30 years to wildlife conservation and was among the pioneers who helped habituate Bwindi’s first gorilla families for tourism and research.

Growing up surrounded by this natural and cultural heritage shaped who I am. After attending school in the United States, I felt a strong call to return home — to give back to the community that raised me and to ensure that conservation benefits the people who live closest to the forest.

As a human rights lawyer, my work focuses on protecting dignity and opportunity for all. As a conservation advocate, I’ve dedicated my energy to creating bridges between people and nature — where both can thrive.

When I founded the Africa Conservation Program (ACP), my dream was simple but powerful: to blend cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, and community development into one shared mission. Today, ACP has grown into a regional initiative uniting conservationists, educators, and local leaders to restore forests, empower communities, and celebrate the cultural heritage that makes our region unique.

Through projects like Bakiga Homestead and partnerships across Bwindi, we are building a future where conservation is not imposed — it is owned, lived, and celebrated by the people themselves.

My vision is for ACP to become a model of how Africa can lead with its heritage — where protecting the land and empowering its people go hand in hand.
