Davis Tukamushaba

Chief Operations Officer

Davis is an accomplished tourism and conservation professional with over 20 years of experience in Uganda’s travel industry. He holds a Degree in Travel and Tourism Management and a Diploma in Travel and Tourism (IATA), combining academic excellence with deep field expertise. Davis began his career as a freelance tour guide, gaining extensive experience in gorilla trekking, wildlife interpretation, and community-based tourism before founding his own company, Gorilla Homeland Safaris, (GHS) in 2015.

Since 2019, Davis has championed a model of conservation-conscious safaris, integrating responsible tourism practices that directly support habitat protection and community livelihoods. As Chief Operations Officer at Africa Conservation Program (ACP), he plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission of sustainable conservation and community empowerment. Through Gorilla Homeland Safaris, he dedicates a percentage of every safari to ACP’s conservation efforts—demonstrating his steadfast commitment to giving back to the environment and the people who depend on it.
